April 7, 20188 yr I have 8 of 8tb hard drive is there away to get triple parity or something better than double parity
April 7, 20188 yr Community Expert No. Dual parity is the maximum that unRAID supports. With the architecture of unRAID one has to question why you think you might want triple parity in the first place? I cannot think of any realistic scenario where it would help as losing 3 drives simultaneously through mechanical failure would probably be due to something (e.g. fire, major power surge) where you have probably lost all drives. Do not forget that in unRAID unless a drive has really failed at the mechanical level one can normally recover data off it reasonably easily. In such a catastrophic scenario you have to revert to your backups.
