I've spent some time looking for solutions in this forum but can't seem to figure our what is going on with my permissions.  I appears one folder in my media drive (TV Shows) will not allow me to delete anything.  I have run Docker Safe New Permissions with no luck.  Sporadic files in other folders (rarely) are also causing me grief.

Are the problem files on disk 4, by any chance?

Stop the array and restart in maintenance mode and run a file system check on disk 4.

 

Do you have notifications enabled?

Can you provide the terminal entry to run a check? reiserfsck --check /dev/sdj1?

It's safer to use the GUI. On the Main page, click on Disk 4 to open it's status page and find the Check button under Check Filesystem status. I don't use Reiser FS so I wouldn't want to give you bad information.

There's a load of information here for all supported file systems.

 

I am running the check on the GUI now (I expect it will take some time).  If it finds problems, rather than repair it can I replace the drive  that will create a new file system or will it copy the same problems over?

If it finds problems you need to let it repair them. Rebuilding onto a new disk will simply rebuild a damaged file system. I understand the Reiser FS repair tool is very good but it can take a long time. You'll just have to wait it out, I'm afraid.
