April 22, 20188 yr Hi to all, I'm new to Unraid, and I'm planning to build a new PC for Unraid for this use case: 1 VM Windows 10 for console-grade gaming on a TV with GPU passthrough, not needed 60fps, just 30fps with maxed details at 1080p, or a little more. 1 VM OSX with GPU passthrough on a 1080p display, for light avarage use. NAS for home archive (movies and tv series) with 3 or 4 drives Some other VMs with no GPU and no specific use, just testing purpose. I'm planning to buy: Motherboard: Asrock Z370M Pro4 CPU: Core i7 8700K Liquid Cooling for overclock up to 4.5-4.8GHz RAM: 32GB DDR4 2666MHz GPU: GTX 970 4GB for Windows VM GPU: GT 1030 2GB for OSX VM Disks: 3 or 4 1-2TB 2.5" drives SSD: 500GB nvme for unassigned devices, for running virtual disks of VM's SSD: 250GB M.2 S-ATA for array caching I think Windows VM need 3 cores (6 vCPUs), OSX VM need 2 cores (4 vCPUs), and one core for Unraid. Is it ok, or I'm planning something wrong? With only 16 PCIe lanes on the CPU, the big GPU will run at 8x and the little one at 4x, is it ok for my intended use? Thank you in advance for your help!!
