poldim
I've about 7TB worth of data that I need copy off of my array. I've installed a 2x 12TB drives where I'd like to copy the data to? What is the best way to copy or move the files over? I've read this. Krusader? SSH cp command with nohup? Any other recommendations? EDIT: Resolved drive size issue. itimpi
This is NOT a formatting issue. Sounds as if the drive is connected to an old controller that cannot handle large drives! Edited April 23, 2018 by itimpi Quote Link to comment
John_M
You give no information about your hardware but what you might do is try a motherboard port or buy a modern SATA controller card. Quote Link to comment
poldim
Got the first problem resolved, now need the best way to transfer the data Quote Link to comment
John_M
rsync, Midnight Commander, Krusader or Dolphin dockers - whichever you're most comfortable with. Quote Link to comment
poldim
I tried rsync and it stopped after 955GB with plenty of free space on the drive. I tried Krusader and when I copy the files over, it seems Krusader doesn't have access to write to the new drive? How can I fix that? Quote Link to comment
John_M
Run rsync again. It will skip over the files it has already copied. Quote Link to comment
