srandolph
Diagnostics attached. Not finding server name, starting GUI or shares. I can restore Biz files and get back to an operational 6.3.5 system but would like to move on to 6.5 jannes_-diagnostics-20180424-1626.zip Quote Link to comment
trurl
Did you take care of everything in the update notes? Haven't looked at the diagnostics yet but you probably have an illegal character in your server name. Quote Link to comment
trurl
Sorry, I was on my mobile and didn't have time for more. Here are the update notes: https://lime-technology.com/forums/topic/66327-unraid-os-version-650-stable-release-update-notes/ Install/Update the Fix Common Problems plugin, then go to Tools -> Update Assistant and click "Run Tests". You will have to get rid of the underscore in your server name. Then try the update again. Quote Link to comment

sicfreak
I also am unable to upgrade to any of the stable versions 6.40 - 6.52 my server is a 24 bay norco with super micro X7DBE-X MB with 3 super micro AOC-SATA2-MV8 I have 24 SEAGATE ENTERPRISE EDITION 4TB HDD. Before doing the online upgrade I followed all the steps. When it boots it shows the controllers and attach ed drives in bios but not during the unraid boot. The only way I can boot any ver above 6.35 is by popping the latches on all the drives and it boots straight in the GUI and when I plug in any of the drives as soon as it tries to mount it throws a drive. error up and even tried booting server with just one drive at a time and no matter what it errors out. Soon as reinstall 6.35 I am back to perfect running system . Same even if I use the usb tool and write any ver to a fresh or same flash. Any ideas? The attached screen shot is best I got of what happens just before the system locks up. thanks for any ideas or thoughts. Quote Link to comment

There are known issues with the SAT2-MV8 controllers and newer kernels and/or newer devices, best bet with be to upgrade them, or you'll likely be stuck using older releases and/or older disks. Well that's a bit of bad news. Those controllers are Pci-X, so you're really saying- 'replace your entire server' Quote Link to comment
