Having trouble finding log

Featured Replies

I would like to post my log in order to provide information on Level 1 compatibility for a motherboard. The problem is that I can't seem to find my log.

I looked in tower\flash\logs, but it only goes to a certain date, which I assume is the day I installed Unmenu. When I go to Unmenu, it only provides the log for today. (I did reboot today.)

How do I find the log for yesterday.

Since you rebooted, I do not believe that you can recover the syslog from prior to the reboot unless you had copied it to another location (flash or array).

From my understanding, each reboot rebuilds most of the environment to include the /var/log location where syslog resides.

Unless it is already incorporated, I'll probably be looking into how to set up copying the syslog to a "perm" location as part of the shutdown/reboot process

Still learning as I go.

Correct, your log is wiped clean on every reboot.  Sorry to say you'll have to go through the Level 1 testing again.  Your efforts to get your motherboard tested are greatly appreciated, though.
