May 1, 20188 yr I would like to create a CentOS VM with small vdisk and mount data volume on unRAID share similar to what we do with docker containers. AFAIK, my options are: 1. Mount unRAID data volume as samba share 2. Mount unRAID data volume as NFS share 3. Use 9p file system. But, this is still not fully supported in CentOS. Is such a way of mounting data is feasible? Is there a better way to achieve this? Thanks for your support.
May 1, 20188 yr Option 1) and 2) definitely work, and 1) is probably easiest to set up. Since the network traffic between the VM and unRAID never leaves the virtual Nic then performance is good.
