Can't reach the new server - ASRock X370

Featured Replies

I just built a replacement box for my unraid parts, but I can't reach it. It boots up and the IP address is right, but when I ping it I get a response from a different IP.

I think it has something to do wit the BIOS setup. There is a Network section that says DHCP or PPOE, but no sign of a fixed IP. I assume the other IP is the one being assigned by the BIOS?

The MB is an ASRock X370 with a Ryzen 1800x. Anyone know if it's the BIOS settings and where the correct settings migh be?

Thanks

Never mind, it was the blue wire.

If you can't reach an IP, sometimes ICMP will get a response from the gateway.

Check for the arp on your router or another system on the network.

Thanks, it turned out to be a PEBKAC issue.
