Unraid 6.3.5 KVM Win Server 2016 Ethernet drivers?!?!

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am trying to setup my first VM in Unraid and I have installed Windows Server 2016 all fine, but when I am trying to update I am having issues with the Ethernet driver that is installed (I can see this from device manager), so it says that it is not connected to a network, even though I can VNC in okay.

Many Thanks

Luca

I have virtio-win-0.1.173-2.iso set as the VirtIO Drivers for a WINServ2016 VM, but I also don't have any network drivers on this VM. I'm assuming that I may have chosen the wrong drivers within the ISO. Any advice as to where within this ISO the correct drivers are located within the ISO? When installing Windows Server 2016 STD, it didn't find the drivers automatically. Any advice would be appreciated.

Please disregard I was able to load the Network drivers within the VIRTIO.iso file by going into NETKVM > 2k16 > amd64
Within that folder I found the redhat ethernet adapter drivers. Remember that the .ISO file will be listed as a CD drive within 'This PC.'

Hopefully that helps the next newb that comes across this issue on their UNRAID box.

You open the virtiocd and broswe to the following location:

PathToVirtiocd\NetKVM\2k16\amd64

Right click on the netkvm/inf file and choose the "install" option from the list.

You now have networking.

Thanks, I didn't notice the notification in time, but I did find it (on my own, no less) after about 20 minutes....
Regardless, I appreciate the quick response!!!
