Replacing a backup battery

Featured Replies

My old UPS was not large enough for my server (and it was old as dirt) so I replaced it. The ups daemon is still coming up with the voltage from the old UPS. I dont really see a way to update it or rescan. I went though the manual but.... im not really sure what I need to do.

Thanks everyone.

Your very first step should be to figure out what UPS you have.

What are you seeing on the 'UPS Details' tab on the UPS Settings page. In the second column is the 'Model Number'.  Are you seeing the right model number of your new UPS?

I am now. I shut down the daemon and started it back up and after the scan everything came up correctly.

Thank you for the responses, looks like it was just a glitch in the matrix.

Make sure you tell the experts your UPS model number, its impotant

Nothing in your post mentions what UPS you have or how you have connected it.

That means no one on this forum will know if they are using the same UPS model.

It was a typical APC model, case closed.
