May 9, 20188 yr Hello, When checking Fix Common Problems it is showing " irq 16: nobody cared " I have attached my syslog if that helps. Thanks, Connor syslog.txt syslog.txt Edited September 15, 20187 yr by Conmyster
May 9, 20188 yr This is quite a common error. Often it can be ignored but it really depends on what is using IRQ 16. In your case it is a USB controller: May 9 17:04:20 ctower kernel: ehci_hcd: USB 2.0 'Enhanced' Host Controller (EHCI) Driver May 9 17:04:20 ctower kernel: ehci-pci: EHCI PCI platform driver May 9 17:04:20 ctower kernel: ehci-pci 0000:00:1a.0: EHCI Host Controller May 9 17:04:20 ctower kernel: ehci-pci 0000:00:1a.0: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 1 May 9 17:04:20 ctower kernel: ehci-pci 0000:00:1a.0: debug port 2 May 9 17:04:20 ctower kernel: DMAR: 32bit 0000:00:1a.0 uses non-identity mapping May 9 17:04:20 ctower kernel: DMAR: Setting identity map for device 0000:00:1a.0 [0xdbe8d000 - 0xdbe9bfff] May 9 17:04:20 ctower kernel: ehci-pci 0000:00:1a.0: cache line size of 64 is not supported May 9 17:04:20 ctower kernel: ehci-pci 0000:00:1a.0: irq 16, io mem 0xf7c3b000 May 9 17:04:20 ctower kernel: ehci-pci 0000:00:1a.0: USB 2.0 started, EHCI 1.00 May 9 17:04:20 ctower kernel: hub 1-0:1.0: USB hub found May 9 17:04:20 ctower kernel: hub 1-0:1.0: 2 ports detected which would be a problem if your USB boot device is using it. You could either choose not to use the affected controller or look for a BIOS update.

May 9, 20188 yr Your diagnostics or the output of lsusb -t would confirm. The affected controller might just be connected to an unused header on the motherboard.
