12 sas drives but only 2 mini sas hd connectors???

Featured Replies

I bought a new Chenbro case.  Excellent quality case.  It has 12 drive slots on a sas backplane.  The back plane has two sas connectors.  Each connector is a mini sas HD connector.  Picture attached.  I ordered two dell perc h310 cards that have a mini sas connector.  I was hoping I can order a mini sas hd to mini sas cable like pictured. How can I make use of all 12 drive slots with two cables????  I thought each cable supports only 4 drives.  Can I get a mini sas hd card to support all 12 drives with unraid?

Is there a card that works with unraid that will support mini sas hd ?

Those backplanes have a built in expander, you just need to connect one cable to see the 12 disks, connecting both will allow dual link or redundancy, depending on the backplane.
