SC836 X8DTI-F nas

Recommended Posts

I want to build new nas using sc836 X8DTI-F will it support 8tb hard drives ?

I am using supermicro motherboard mbd-x11ssl-fq and thinking about getting xeon E3-1235L or is there better cpu to use. I want to run emby, couchpotato, transmission.

I have 7 8tb western digital drivers and 7 4tb to 6tb drives.  What you guys think 16 bays or 24 ?

Depends on the backplane model, you'll need to confirm which one it is.

Didn't know that a backplane can limit the disk size (bytes).

I Never saw a "Maximum disk size" in backplanes specs.

However I don't have much experience with backplanes, so good to know.
