I think that If I want to have a larger chunk cache in Rclone then I need to set a flag on startup of Rclone to store the DB and the chunk cache on my unRaid cache drive. Quote Link to comment
CHBMB
Things are working much better now. I'm going to call it solved. The Cache setting in Rclone was set too high. I have lowered maximum cache to 1GB. Rootfs is now staying around 21% full. What was the cache setting before? Quote Link to comment

This wasn't an issue on the machine I had just moved from as it had a lot of RAM. I also had no idea that Rootfs would limit Rclone to 50% of the total RAM. So yeah allowing Rclone to try to use up to 10GB of 8GB of RAM clearly wasn't working. Quote Link to comment
jude
I just went back to check on the Rclone install documentation and 10GB is the default setting for the maximum size of stored chunks. This will also default to being stored in Rootfs. If you have 16GB of RAM or less this will be a problem. Quote Link to comment
