Do i have to use it as a flash drive or can i install it on the DOM? if i can only run USB can i some how wipe the DOM so never to boot QNAP agian if i choose so down the road? Thanks everyone, i'm a newbuhere. Edited May 17, 20188 yr by BLAZE

Look at 6 or 8 GB drives and instead use fewer drives, leaving the remaining slots for later.
May 18, 20188 yr There are no reason to touch/change the DOM. Just unplug it so you may return back to QTS anytime. Add a valid USB stick and hard test unRAID would run as expect / normal, then another issue should be how to transfer data from 3TBx12 to new disk/unRAID. Edited May 18, 20188 yr by Benson
