Accessing tower from remote location?

Featured Replies

Can the tower be accessed remotely via the Internet?  It's hooked up to the home network which has a wireless router and DSL modem. This is not only a security question but also in the event I want to access it when on the road. Point me in the right direction please.

The very fact that you are asking this question indicates to me that you do NOT want to try this.

There is only 1 way to get all the security right, so hackers stay out, and you can get access to your files.  Every other possibility lets the hackers in.

Even experts would not try to give you advice.  unRAID was never designed to be secure enough to access from the internet.

Basically you need a Virtual Private Network and a Secure Encrypted link or your data, the server, and every PC on your LAN will be hacked.

I knew I could access it via VPN (currently have TeamViewer) but have not always believed it was real secure.  Thanks.
