I had a few months to login at my unRAID and i forget my user password.

I search at safari/chrome/firefox password manager if they store it, without any luck.

 

Is there a safe method to not lose any data, and reset the user password?

is the following method safe?

i use unRAID 6.

That link you gave goes to a thread with a few posts in it. There is another link in that thread which goes to a limetech post. Can't get any more sure instruction than limetech. I am posting that link to make sure you go directly there and skip any other advice in that other thread.
