(Solved)Hard drive threw an error

Featured Replies

I have one of my disk that threw me a power cycle count error this morning. Should I be worried about this? Drive is over a year old and hasn't had any other errors. I am running an extended smart test now. Just thought I would see what the common thoughts are about this error since this is the first time I have ever seen this error after years using Unraid.

I have attached the report, but I see no errors but the power cycle count, but you may have a better idea of what you are looking at in the report than I.

Thanks

Power cycle count is not an error, just a counter, SMART looks fine, the only warning is about temp, the disk ran pretty close to max temp in the past:

Current Temperature: 28 Celsius
Power Cycle Min/Max Temperature: 23/38 Celsius
Lifetime Min/Max Temperature: 14/59 Celsius

Max is 60C and you should be nowhere near that, ideally under 40C, 45C max.

Thanks Johjnie. Temp had been a problem in the past when I had array in a closet but since moving it about 6 months ago, highest temp has been 36. But summer is coming and will keep an eye on that. Thanks again
