Hardware Change

Featured Replies

currently my system has 2 parity drives, 2 cache drives and 16 data drives.

I'm going to move all the hardware in to a new bigger case and the only change with be the hard drive connections i.e.

drive 1 connected to sata 1 on the motherboard may end up connected to sata 3 on expansion card.

will unraid still see all the drives and continue normally after the move or is there something I need to do first.

Yes, as long as not using RAID controllers since these can sometimes detect the disks differently.

thanks for the reply johnnie, the hard drive controller is non raid so I hope that helps.

But had a hell of a weekend, took the motherboard and bits out of the case to put in the new case found the cpu heatsink a little too tall, so ordered a new smaller one, put the motherboard back in the old case, now the motherboard powers the fans but nothing else, the debug display that gives error codes is blank.

head in palms screaming.
