usb-to-rj45 extender not being recognized

When I plug in my USB tv tuner to my server it gets recognized as /dev/dvb (I followed the dvb custom driver steps in another post). However, when I insert a usb extender then /dev/dvb is gone.

 

I know the usb extender and cat6 cable and jumpers work because I did the same test with a windows laptop and it all works. 

 

Can someone please help?

    3. Adjust your preference.
