August 18, 201015 yr Good day crew, I have already taken down our old windows based backup server as all of our tests of data recovery and simulated hardware failure on the lime-tech device worked out great. 2 Days ago I began to have the issue as described below and it needs to be solved by Thursday afternoon, or else we are going to be in big trouble. My server is currently loaded with 3 1TB drives (1 parity). I have a single share called BackupFolder using a High-Water with 10240 min space on a split-level 1 This BackupFolder should be split between the 2 non-parity drives (will be allocating additional drives as space is needed: expect to reach the max disc capacity mid next year). What I NEED for the 'main folders'. Each main folder will back up an un-defined and changing folder structure and file count. BackupFolder\Aaron BackupFolder\Charlie BackupFolder\Chris BackupFolder\ldbci BackupFolder\Len BackupFolder\occ BackupFolder\Rick BackupFolder\Server_home When I browse to the server via the network I see BackupFolder, disk1, disk2, and flash. Under disk 1 I see all of the folders listed above, and all of their subfolders/files. This drive's capacity is maxed out. Under disk2 I see ONLY the folder BackupFolder. When I go to my mapped network drive of the Backupfolder it shows nearly 1 TB free, however when I try to write to it a message says that the disk does not have enough capacity. I thought the way I had the split-level setup would allow the subfolders to go to each place as space dictates, apparently this is not the case. Please advise, and I thank you in advance.
August 18, 201015 yr Set your split level to 2. Split level 1 allows "BackupFolder" to be duplicated across the drives, but not any sub-folders. Split-level 2 would allow the sub-folders to be duplicated across the drives too.
