Jessie
I'm about to build an unraid server on a Gigabyte X170ecc-ws board. It will host a xeon e3-1245 v6 processor and 32gb ram. The processor can handle ddr2400 and the motherboard on paper specifies ddr 2133 ecc memory modules. This is because the mb was originally designed for the e3 v5 processors. V6 processors work only after a firmware upgrade. I know it will work if I use ddr 4-2133 ram but I can't get it at the moment. I can get ddr4-2400 ram. Will that work? I know this is not an issue on a normal system, but I know xeons can be picky when it comes to clock speeds. I would hate to fork out a lot of money to find out it didn't work. Quote Link to comment
