Sharing a UPS via SNMP

Featured Replies

Hello,

My Unraid is connected to an APC UPS via USB.

I have another NAS, a Netgear Readynas Pro, and it can get remote UPS triggers via SNMP.

That means that Unraid should run the SNMP protocol and make the UPS available through it.

My Readynas already has the APC mib built in to address the UPS.

Any idea how I can load SNMP on Unraid and configure it if needed?

From a brief google search, it appears that the readynas uses NUT. I'd investigate from that angle, since their is already a NUT plugin for unraid.

Of course, but how does that help?
The UPS has only one USB port, so either Unraid gets it or Readynas gets it. After I checked it is easier to get access to a remote UPS from Readynas because this whole feature is built into Readynas GUI.

NUT will share UPS status over the network in a client slave relationship just like the apcupsd that unraid uses by default.

Now I lost you but that is definitely a lead. so I will investigate that. Thank you

Hello,

I would like my Unraid to be a server for my UPS and my Readynas to be able to get SNMP triggers from Unraid.

Can somebody tell me if it is possible and how?

I attached a screenshot of the Readynas sole configuration available for remote UPS.
