June 4, 20188 yr Hello I've just installed unraid and just flashed the Dell H200 to IT mode. So I put an SSD and a 2TB drive in to the drive bay, and unraid doesn't seem to see them. is it possible I flashed the H200 incorrectly?
June 4, 20188 yr Post your diagnostics (Tools - Diagnostics). Also, you're going to want the SSD to be on a motherboard port, as TRIM more than likely won't be supported by the HBA
June 4, 20188 yr Author Here's the diagnostics, I'm going to try get a reverse breakout cable for the SSD so it can remain in the caddy, but be plugged into the SATA ports. pico-diagnostics-20180604-1029.zip Edited June 4, 20188 yr by .Nexus Grammar and spelling
June 4, 20188 yr No disks are detected, are you using the correct cables? Forward and reverse breakout look the same but aren't, if you flashed a bios you can check if the disks are detected in the HBA bios.
June 4, 20188 yr Author Well I'm using these cables since the previous ones where too short to reach the HBA's port. I'm not too sure on how to access the HBA's bios, is it inside the regular one?
June 4, 20188 yr OK, those cables are good, as long as there OK, different types are for breakout cables. The bios is outside the board bios, but it's optional during the flash.
June 4, 20188 yr Author When I power the server on it will say the VGA accelerator, then it will display a POST screen allowing me to access the regular BIOS, then it will boot to unraid. Before I flashed the card it did present a screen about configuration but I never did anything there and went straight for the flash. I've included the information about the card when I ran " sas2flsh.exe -c 0 -list" if it helps. I followed this guide roughly.
June 4, 20188 yr Author Well I reflashed the card and I installed the BIOS for it. So it now displays that image. When the server is powered on the drive activity light will flash once on the hard drive bays but that is all they do.
June 5, 20188 yr You'll need to test with other cables, disks or enclosures to try and find where the problem is, if you have a breakout cable connect a disk directly to the HBA.
June 5, 20188 yr Author I contacted the support team for the company I bought the server off and it turns out that the Dell H200 isn't compatible with Chenbro systems (The system which I have). Is there any alternative card I could buy that has an IT mode?

Is there any alternative card I could buy that has an IT mode? So it's the backplane / enclosure that's the issue? To be positive of that you would need to temporarily connect the disks directly to the card using breakout cables. Otherwise, you will need to ask the support team which LSI based IT mode cards will work with their server.
June 5, 20188 yr Author I've contacted the support team asking what card would be compatible with the server. I don't have any breakout cables so I'm going to look into buying one.
