fibre parts to use with MNPA19-XTR

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I got a  SFP+ DAC cable, but also wanted to fiber connection with the peer to peer MNPA19-XTR for a potential longer run. What 10Gbe fiber module do you recommend and cable? There seem to be a lot of choices on ebay cisco, HP, IBM 850nm v.s 1610nm etc?

Some parts and explanation on differences would be fantastic

Thanks very much in adavnce

I would try and get hold of the supported ones,  some cards are funny about which transceivers they will take.  Mellanox ones are here :-

I assume they will be compatible with the cards you have.

Guessing you will not need LR (Over 300M fibre, 1610nm) so I would go for SR (850nm) since they tend to be cheaper......   Make sure you buy the right fibre too.
