need help on share permission

Featured Replies

Hi all

I want to make my share's private with username and password . I already created a user and put read and write on permission. But on windows machine when i tried to move a file or copy it i got an error message that says to contact my administrator. But the share has the write normaly ?

Anyone can guide please

thx

Windows can only use one username and password at a time on remote servers. Most likely you are still connected with the default windows login since you have anonymous read permissions on some shares of your server. You have to make windows forget about all the other connections to shares, and connect to the private share first so it asks for the username and password.
