Enhancement: Management console display of progress on clearing a new drive.

Featured Replies

I'm using unRAID 5.0 beta 2.

I'm going through the steps of adding a new drive to the unRAID array. I'm letting emhttp do the clearing for me. What I see in the management console is simply:

Start array...

However, in the log files I see the following.

Aug 21 18:01:03 reavers emhttp: writing mbr on disk 3 (/dev/sde)

Aug 21 18:01:03 reavers emhttp: re-reading /dev/sde partition table

Aug 21 18:01:03 reavers kernel:  sde: sde1

Aug 21 18:01:04 reavers emhttp: clearing disk3 ...

Aug 21 18:04:13 reavers emhttp: ... clearing 1% complete

Aug 21 18:07:27 reavers emhttp: ... clearing 2% complete

Aug 21 18:10:40 reavers emhttp: ... clearing 3% complete

Aug 21 18:13:54 reavers emhttp: ... clearing 4% complete

Aug 21 18:17:07 reavers emhttp: ... clearing 5% complete

Aug 21 18:20:21 reavers emhttp: ... clearing 6% complete

Aug 21 18:23:34 reavers emhttp: ... clearing 7% complete

Aug 21 18:26:48 reavers emhttp: ... clearing 8% complete

Aug 21 18:30:02 reavers emhttp: ... clearing 9% complete

Aug 21 18:33:20 reavers emhttp: ... clearing 10% complete

Can we get those messages displayed to the console?

Also in beta 2, I tried adding two new disks to an array at the same time, the console never cleared either one of them. I had to remove one and add them to the array one at a time

Happened to me too, but I had pre-cleared the drives... I think it locked up when formatting them.  ( I think it was on beta-1. )
