July 5, 20188 yr At the moment I have a share called media that have my movies, tv shows and music. But I wish to control wich drives are en use. I wish to reserve disk 1-2 for tv, disk 3-5 for movies, and disk 5 for music. But I havent found a way to do this when they all are a part of the same share. Then I thought of split them to seperate shares, witch generate a new question. I still wish to have one share called media for external devices, instead of seperate shares. Could I use symlinks to bypass this or is there a smarter solution?
July 5, 20188 yr split level : manual should do what you want. You will need to manage free space by moving data around manually though.
July 5, 20188 yr Author That could ofcourse be an option. How does the share handle new content then? If I use manuel split level and I copy to /mnt/user/media/movies. Does it then automaticly plase the data on same dis af rest of my movies, or is it dicided by free space on disks in array?
July 5, 20188 yr Manual split level will only add new data to existing folders. If you run out of space on a disk, you will need to move some folders using mc or krusader from /mnt/diskX/share/folder/subfolder to /mnt/diskY/share/folder/subfolder.
