Clearing out a drive to remove it - 33,6MB of "invisible" data left

Featured Replies

Hi,

I wanted to do some changes to my unRAID and for that I need to remove 3 drives first. Because of that, I wanted to use the Clear driven, then remove Method. But now after clearing the drive (via unBalance and by hand), I have 33,6MB left on my first test drive. Do I need to get rid of the remaining 33,6MB or is that just some internal config stuff? The Disk itself says "0 files / folders left" via the WebGUI and when accessing the Disk via SMB, it's just empty.

I would say that is some disk overhead used by the file system. Only other possibility is some hidden / inaccessible files due to permissions. You could try looking using console with root user. But I'd bet it is just overhead.

You might also try navigating the disk using Krusader, if you want a GUI instead of command line.
