July 14, 20187 yr Hello! Still a newbie to unraid after making the switch from Freenas to Windows Server 2016 and back to Linux again to unraid. (very happy I found this distro) However, I have successfully managed to pass 2 separate networks through to the pfsense VM. One is a SFP for my ISP and that works fine. The other is a Dual port Broadcom IOMMU group 11: [14e4:165f] 01:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Limited NetXtreme BCM5720 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe [14e4:165f] 01:00.1 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Limited NetXtreme BCM5720 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe Sucessfully appended the syslinux config file to add both IOMMU groups: append vfio-pci.ids=10ec:8168,14e4:165f initrd=/bzroot And the VM does indeed see both devices, and two ports/config: But inside the pfsense machine I only get presented with two interfaces, one of the dual port NIC and the other card with the SFP module. Is there something that I am missing, or do I need to add the IOMMU group twice to get both devices? Many thanks for your time! Edited July 14, 20187 yr by all0gIc
August 19, 20187 yr copy your xml, start the pfsense vm, then: post the xml of the vm post your diagnostic zip (tools>diagnostics)
August 23, 20187 yr Author Hi, Thanks for the reply. I built a windows VM and had no issues, it sees the dual nic BCM5720C. So this seems to be a linux issue with pFsense running in a VM. So i just need to figure out this or try another dual NIC. Error on boot message is bge1 : Try Again bge1 : Try Again bge1 : Try Again bge1 : Try Again Quote An additional screen shot when the vm is booted.
