Featured Replies

hi, today I got this error with the Value: 8 should worry I just called Seagate but they tell me that it is not an error, that to be able to be replaced the disk must be an error. any advice?

Reallocated sectors are not an issue as long as the number stays stable and does not continue increasing.

ok, thats good to know, is there any way to remove the yellow mark or to make the system notifies me, if the number increase?

The yellow triangle on the Dashboard can be removed by clicking on it and acknowledging the current values, as long as notifications are enable you'll get a new one if it increases.

My suggestion: DONT USE Seagate drives - they are crap - all of my Seagates are gone with the wind...

Zonedriver, I would personally have to disagree with that statement, whilst Seagate drives have had their issues in the past, my own personal experience has been that their quality has improved. I have over 25 seagate drives amongst my four servers and they are running great with now issues. I think we are only able to speak from our own experiences which can be misleading when giving advice.

Their quality has never been bad except for specific models.

Agreed
