Hi,

I’m new to unraid and I am having trouble getting to any of my shares to show on SMB (which I think are only windows devices). I enables SMB in settings->SMB and in the individual share (drew) but after I click apply it doesn’t show anything on the shares page.

Thanks for the help, Malcolm

I believe that setting the SMB shares to private will mean that it will show up only on the computer which has logged on as one of the users.  To experiment, set the shares to 'Public' ans see what happens.

Also, I don't believe you want to us  the "Yes (Active Directory"  setting unless you have a MS Domain Server on your SMB network.  Use the "Yes ( Workgroup)"  instead.

One more quick thing.  You may have to stop and start the array for any changes to take place.  (SMB requires that the SMB service be stopped before any changes in its configuration file will be made to the running SMB service.)

Stopping the disks allowed me apply the SMB setting. I also changed SMB to Yes (working group) and I changed the share to public but it still isn’t showing up in wind 10 file explorer/This PC/Map Network Drive. I used server IP to connect (I not sure what I’m doing wrong).

Thanks

Oh, you have a Windows 10 problem.  This a real ball of knots.... I would suggest that you start with this thread and look very carefully at the posts on page 2:
