Drive disabled - SMART passed - Is it ok?

Recommended Posts

I have 5x 3TB drives. 2 are parity, 3 are data. My toshiba 3tb (parity 2) showed up with a red X some time after I transferred a bit of data to the unraid arroy. The server sits undisturbed by me in my rack (which probably vibrates like crazy).

I ran the extended SMART test and the drive passed. Should I toss this drive or keep using it?

Here's the download:

You might want to change the SATA cable just to be on the safe side.  Make sure that it has a retention force when you attempt to disconnect it. No resistance-- you have real potential of having a flaky connection.  After doing all of this make sure that you have not loosened any of the other SATA connectors.   (The SATA connector is the posterchild of not to design a connector system!!!!)
