July 30, 20187 yr I just bought this motherboard when I saw it's almost half off. I'm planning on picking up some Ivy bridge Xeons from ebay later this week. This is a big motherboard, make sure you have a case that it will fit in. I'm going to try and put it into an rpc-4224, otherwise I have a E-ATX full tower Rosewill case it should fit in if I leave out a few standoffs. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157350 Edited July 30, 20187 yr by david11129

July 30, 20187 yr Author I don't need more than one x16 slot. I would have been fine with several x8 slots. I basically need room for maybe a full size GPU, and 2 HBA's. I'm actually leaning towards installing ESXI rather than Unraid on this board. My X10SL-F mobo and e3-1285lv3 CPU are both hardly being taxed other than the occasional plex stream. They also use much less power than I imagine this system is going to. I already have 96gb of ram to put in it. 1 hour ago, uldise said: be ware about Marvell SATA controller, many have seen some instability.. Do you know if this problem only affects Unraid, or is it going to be a problem with Esxi as well?
