August 27, 201015 yr I have an issue with iTunes and my media in the unraid. I am currently working in Vietnam and there are frequent power outages. I have my computers set to automatically start upon restoration of power. The problem is that my windows 7 machine starts up, logs in and starts iTunes faster than the unraid box. Itunes then does not see the media directory and defaults back to the user/music folder. Has anyone else had this issue or know a way around it?
August 27, 201015 yr stage one get a ups with that many power problems its just a matter of time before you kit breaks stage 2 do not set your machines to start up automatically after power failure without a UPS doing so means if you are away and you get a series of short power outages your chance of kit breaking goes up alot stage 3 we can look at timings once you protect your kit
August 27, 201015 yr Author I am well aware of the issues with power and the problems possible from it, but thanks for your concern. I have plenty of backups and could care less about the boxes them selves or the hard drives in them. It is looking like I just will not be able to continue with automatic login for the win7 box as it just gets up and running faster and causes this issue. It makes it a pain when I am out of town and my wife wants to watch something. I either have to login remotely or walk her through it as it is headless.
August 27, 201015 yr you could use a simple script to connect your mapped drives and delay its launch at bootup
August 27, 201015 yr Author Thanks, NAS, that seems to work. i created a task to be run 90 seconds after logging in that first mounts the drive then opens itunes. Thanks.
