August 1, 20187 yr My parity drive started disabling itself recently. I tried swapping which bay it was plugged into, and a few days later it had the same issue. I don't think it's the backplane since none of the other drives have issues. I ran the extended SMART test and it said it passed okay, but I'm guessing there is something wrong? Do I need to go get a new parity drive? gunhaver-diagnostics-20180801-1211.zip
August 1, 20187 yr Author I've tried it in 2 bays with the same results. I guess I could try a few more.
August 3, 20187 yr Author Tried in another bay and it has the same issue. Got to be the drive at this point right?
August 4, 20187 yr Community Expert Parity is failing and needs to be replaced: ID# ATTRIBUTE_NAME FLAGS VALUE WORST THRESH FAIL RAW_VALUE 200 Multi_Zone_Error_Rate ---R-- 200 200 000 - 12 This attribute should be 0, a non 0 value is very bad news fore any WD drive, there are also recent UNC errors on the SMART report.
