a bit more detail would help about what you are trying to achieve

I work for a company that sells an SNMP reporting tool.  It polls SNMP capable devices, and can alarm on disk/mem/cpu utilizations, avaiability, etc.  I have a copy of this running and monitoring about 10 machines on my network, and would like to incorporate my unRaid server.

 

.... it is more of an academic exercise than a true "need"

 

In general, adding a custom device would require compiling a vendor specific MIB into our product, which would expose variables that could be reported on.... Say Drive Temp, etc... But many times we can use industry standard MIBs for the basic metrics.
