I have an appdata and downloads share that I had use cache set to Only

I still noticed the appdata and downloads had their own shares on the actual array. I only wanted them to be on the cache and not get put on the array

So I went in and changed the share to use cache: prefer

I then turned off VMs and Docker in the settings and then ran the mover scripts thinking it would put the appdata and downloads contents on the array back to the cache drive and this would eliminate them off the array

 

Well this is not the case, the mover script seems to do nothing

 

Am I doing something wrong? Please help

Go To settings, Scheduler, Mover Settings, and enable Mover logging (temporarily)

Run the mover script then post your diagnostics, along with a screen shot of what appears when you go to Shares, and click on "Compute" for the share(s) in question

 

But, what makes you think that they are on the array?

Here is the diagnostics

 

I can see the appdata folder under the /mnt/cache and /mnt/user folders

I thought it should only show under /mnt/cache

 

Maybe I am wrong

Nope it'll also show under /mnt/user (as it is a share)

 

If you want to confirm at the command line,

du /mnt/user0/appdata

 

/mnt/user0 is the contents of the array without taking the cache drive into consideration

 

Ah yes I do not see it under user0 at all
