LSI SAS 9211-8i spin down probelms

Hi I was looking in to getting the LSI SAS 9211-8i looking at the reviews they said that this card does not support spin down of the hard drive. Is there any truth to this statement? If so any suggestions on what HBA to get for a reasonable cost?

    It does, unRAID doesn't support spin down with SAS drives though, no problem if you are going to use SATA drives.

    You can flash this card to new IT mode  Firmware, (with dos usb or uefi usb stick) and if your server wont boot, or the LSI Card wont work try to tape pin 5+6 on front.

    That was my fault, now its working.

    My board Gigabyte Z170 gaming 5.
