Now that I have added as much hard drive space as needed and ram,  I was wondering if there are any apps or dockers that help "balance" (not unbalance), the storage usage,  or even put commonly opened large files on separate drives.  IE 4 x 2+GB files each on individual drives to enhance read times?

    unBalance has a "scatter" function that takes files from a disk and "scatters" them to other disks. But I don't think it knows (nor does anything else know) how you might want them arranged on different disks. Of course, you would only get an enhancement if trying to read from different disks at the same time.
