Win10 VM ballooning

Hi, I setup a Win10 VM with GTX1080 passthrough. Everything's working fine except memory ballooning. The VM is allocated with min 8GB and max 16GB memory. In Task Manager I see total memory as 16GB, but shows >60% used. I know this is not true as the real memory used is less than 2GB. At first I thought this is how ballooning works - it shows "total memory used". In my case it's 8GB reserved + 2GB used. But I've never seen any additional memory being released to the VM, even when Task Manager shows >90% memory utilization.

Has anyone got the same experience? Maybe there's a driver/software I didn't install?

That's how ballooning works.

And you don't see less memory utilisation because any freed RAM is automatically used for caching. Try turning off ballooning (min = max) and check % being used by cache.

Free RAM is wasted RAM for unRAID. You want 100% utilisation.
