Unmountable: Unsupported partition layout

Featured Replies

I think that I've seen some threads about this but not sure as to how to proceed on my end. I am trying to change my cache disk and am getting the following message:

green-on.pngCache CT1000MX500SSD1_1826E145C2E0 - 1 TB (sds) 35 C 47 0 0 btrfs Unmountable: Unsupported partition layout

What is the best way to proceed?

Please post more details, change your cache how, replacing an existing device, single device or pool, filesystem used.

Also instead of just the syslog always please post the complete diagnostics: Tools -> Diagnostics

I followed the guide that was posted for upgrading 6.2 and above. I only had one spinning 500GB drive that I was trying to change for an SSD. I have 6.5.3 running and so far - no problems. I tried two different SSDs, a Crucial and a Samsung.

I am attaching full diagnostics.

Now, after moving disks around, I temporarily lost one of my data disks, but gained the format ability on the new SSD cache. I have to rebuild that "lost" 2TB disk, but after that it looks like the new and improved cache disk will be up.

Then you just need to format the new device.

Yes. It was just very strange that I didn't have that option right away.
