Every so often when I try to go to the http://Tower url, it will ask for a userid and password. It will have a message that teh server is asking for a secure connection. I am never successful logging in. It requires a reboot for me to get to it.

 

Any suggestions about wht is going on?

 

Oh, also, when I go to the users tab, it just presents a screen for ROOT, with two fields: Enter Password, and Re-enter Password. I was thinking if I wanted to add users I would do it at this screen. Not sure if this screen is for changing the password for Root or what. I'll search out the docs to see if I can figure this out, but wanted to mention it here in case it is an anomaly.

 

 

Yes, that screen is for the root password.

 

Did you set the password for root?  

 

Also, telnet in, copy the syslog before you reboot and post it here when you encounter it again

I'm asked for a password every time. I don't mind since its well supposed to be protected
