Scott
Just a quick question, i am looking for a new drive and saw a pretty good deal on a 2tb drive. but i am wondering if i can use that size drive in my array. i built my unraid server about 2.5 yrs ago. does anyone now if there is a way to check that my rig will be compatable with that size drive before buying it. PhilH
It depends on what chipset your motherboard uses, what controllers on MB & any addon controller cards you have installed. We need more info to be able to answer your question. As you can see below I have 3 2TB drives on a old PIII machine. Just took the right PCI SATA controller card. Link to comment

BRiT
Those north and south bridges support 2TB drives perfectly fine. The caveat is you might need an updated bios or you might not need anything, it depends if any cases were cut initially by the manufacturer in the BIOS. Link to comment
