V4.7 -> V6 Upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have just upgraded to V6 following the upgrade instructions.

After booting the array I can access the GUI from my workstation but no drives are assigned which is covered in the 'clean' install section of the instructions. I have assigned the drives as per the original allocation - however the parity shows 'All existing data on this device will be OVERWRITTEN when array is Started'

I assume this message relates to the parity only which will need to be rebuilt?

I just want to confirm that it is safe to start the array without any data being affected.

Cheers,

D

Yes, this is for the parity disk only. Its contents are overwritten due to the necessary rebuild. Your data disks are not touched.

Thanks unRAIDable

The parity is currently rebuilding.

I see under permissions that I need run a one-time update

"This is a mandatory one-time action to be taken after upgrading from a pre-5.0 unRAID server release to unRAID v5 or a later release. Select ALL DISKS when performing this one-time action."

Can this be done while the parity is rebuilding? And should I also select ALL for shares?
