HDD's won't spin up

Featured Replies

My current unRaid server:

i7-3820

EVGA X79 SLI
16GB DDR3
LSI 9211-8i
HD7950 GPU
6x Data drives, 1x Parity drive
1x SSD Cache drive
Coarsair 650M PSU

Yesterday I opened up my unRaid server to add an optical drive, since I have so many drives that need power I had to reorganize all my sata power connectors in order to free up a power connector for the optical drive. Once I had done all of that I turned on the server only to watch it spin up for 1.5 seconds before turning off. Since that happened none of my HDD’s will spin up, I’ve changed power supplies and even removed each HDD and placed into another system with no luck. The SSD seems to be unaffected, I can access that fine. When unRaid starts, my array is completely offline as it cannot find any data disks. I have all my important data backed up to an external 8TB easystore as well as B2. I’m not concerned about data loss just have this sunken feeling that I lost all 7 of my data disks.

Am I screwed?

You mean it stay cool, no temperature raise ?

You have touch the power cable, pls double check.

Pls also test connect with onboard SATA.

** Some harddisk wouldn't spin up if no SATA link and some just need power only would spin up.

I've double checked everything. If I take a spare HDD and connect the sata power and data cables to it, everything works, but if I use any of the 7 drives mentioned earlier I get nothing.

Then it may drive burn out. Suggest also connect some drive to onboard for verify.

If drive confirm burn out. You may ref. below have any help.
