Temp Rising randomly

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm running unraid on a Dell T20 with Xeon CPU and 2 HDD and one SSD. I am using temperature monitoring plugin. Normally on my usage I get around 30 to 35 degrees. Recently randomly temperature rises to 45 to 50. These are Celsius by the way. If I rebooted it would drop back to normal and stay for a few days. Then after week or so jump back up.

Is this normal?

My usage when it's high is same as it was when it was in low 30s.

Bit odd how after reboot it stays like that until week or so later. Ambient temperature hasn't increased either.

If you are using any kind of fan speed control (active or static), you could have a fan stalling out.  Often, with active fan control, the fans get full power on restore until the controller gets initialized.

Nope not using any fan control on OS level.
Unless Dell stock BIOS has fan control settings incorrectly set.
