Upgrade from console

Featured Replies

Hi people

i did something extremely stupid and as a result broke my unraid installation! Is there any way I can force upgrade/rewrite of all the base files excluding the configurations from console?

Or can I make a backup of the configuration somehow and rewrite the usb?

thanks in advance

Could you explain a little more what you did?

If we can assume whatever you did didn't mess with the config folder on your flash it should be easy to get going again.

The config folder on your flash drive has everything about your configuration, and if you copy it you can prepare the flash as a new install and restore that config folder and everything should be as before.

I messed up the kernel modules :)

so basically /lib/modules is fcuked :) also bzImage :)

So now when unRaid boots it’s looking for something thats not there

Can I download the latest release... burn it to USB and replace the config folder with my one? is this going to work?

Yes, for a suitable definition of "burn".

Just backup your config folder somewhere, prepare flash exactly as you would for a new install, restore the config folder, put flash in your server and boot.
