SentryChicken
Tried to create a windows vm which will use gtx 1050ti but the vm doesn't boot up, even no cpu's fan noise. This gpu is located on the top pcie, and i heard about a problem with nvidia's gpus in the upper pcie slot. can this be the issue? Attached the diagnostics file. does anybody know how to solve this issue? server-diagnostics-20180920-1537.zip Quote Link to comment
NewDisplayName
vm... cpu noise? If the server itself is not turning on, its nothing about unraid, but since you have a diagnostic file... I never heared about this issue, i always place my graphicscards in the first slots... But anyway, first thing i woudl try is to update your urnaid, maybe this fixes it. Did you watched that youtube video about how to make windows 10 vm? I would watch all videos from him... This doesn't make sense to me, the fans should run regardless of VM usage. Are you sure you plugged all the power cables into the GPU card? Does the VM work if you assign VNC graphics instead of passing through the GPU? Quote Link to comment
SentryChicken
i already managed to power up a windows 10 vm and it makes fan's noise like first seconds of pc while turned on from off mode. -managed to use a radeon r7 250 and vnc. -also made sure power cable is connected. still doesnt work. in addition, the same vm doesn't work with 1050ti but does work with the radeon. ill watch the video and tell you if there is a difference. anyway thank you for your responses.
