Tonitram
I just updated yesterday. I LOVE the new GUI. It looks much more modern and also runs smoother. Great job! I also love the new Unraid logo and the new look of the website/forums. Thank you. Edited October 11, 2018 by Tonitram adding text Quote Link to comment

Please upload the Diagnostics file ( Tools >>> Diagnostics ) rather then individual configuration and log files. When you open a new topic be sure that you give complete details about what client computers are giving issues, what OS version they are running, and any error messages that you are getting. jpimlott
Thank you for the response. I will do that too I set the server back to 6.5.3 and samba is working great now. No other configuration changes were made. I saw others have trouble connecting to samba as well. The clients are win10 1803 and win10 1709 with all patches. However, I discovered last night that unjoins itself after each reboot. Quote Link to comment

What part changed in Unraid that we have to change out desktops to match it. Is unraid only using samba 1.0 and that need to be enabled? I understand that Micro$oft is turning of smb 1.0 on new installs. I thought unraid was using the latest smb . 1 Quote Link to comment
jpimlott
An update here. I can ping unraid by name 'tower' and get a response. I can connect to the server by ip address and open and share or directory. Still multiple PCs will not connect by name. either existing mapped drives or browser. I have tried local master on and off and no change. Ideas ? Quote Link to comment

Open Network, or any windows explorer window, and type server name like this: \\Tower (assuming name is 'Tower') If that does not work, try all caps: \\TOWER (no need to change name in Unraid OS). Does that work? Quote Link to comment
jpimlott
thank you for responding No it does not work. I tried both. network path not found. I can ping it though by name Quote Link to comment

jpimlott
The system worked perfect on 6.5.3 . I had more time today to troubleshoot. tower-diagnostics-20181013-1115.zip Quote Link to comment

You have an 'smb-extra.conf' file defined with this line: ntlm auth = yes Why did you add that? Not sure if that explains the issue but you might try getting rid of that. Quote Link to comment
jpimlott
I saw others had added it for fix samba issues. It was not working before I added it and rebooted. Quote Link to comment

Please type this command: testparm -sv >/boot/samba.txt You can connect by IP address right? Then 'samba.txt' should show up on your 'flash' share. If you don't care if your share names are visible, post here, or you can send to me: [email protected] Quote Link to comment

blu3_v2
Another user checking in with unscheduled Parity Checks. Like Harro, KernelG and others I have a custom schedule (Checks scheduled for the first Monday of the month every 3rd month), and since updating to 6.6.1 Parity Checks have commenced EVERY Monday. Tried editing settings and selecting Apply, then Done but settings are ignored. From the 6.6.2 Release Notes this bug does not seem to have been fixed so thought I better post my experiences here Edited October 15, 2018 by blu3_v2 Spelling Quote Link to comment
